Originality – the key to a successful wedding

What flowers should be the components of the bride’s bouquet? Is it possible to make invitations to the wedding with their own hands? How should the newlyweds’ festive table be decorated? Wedding decorator Diana Nedoria told “Panorama” about wedding trends and not only.

In one scale.

A young wife and mother, Diana has time to do not only the family and home, but also her hobby, which has already become her main job.

– It all started when a friend brought me a handmade wedding invitation. The card was pretty original. And I thought, can’t I make a beautiful card too? – Diana said.

Invitations for friends

At first, she made cards and invitations for her friends. Then, after graduating from university and getting a degree in design, she started doing wedding decorating professionally. And a six-month course in floristry helped her learn the language of flowers as well.

There are many types of wedding events that can vary in format, time of year, venue and many other parameters. Listed below are some of the most common types of wedding events:

  • Traditional wedding
  • Beach wedding
  • Mountain wedding

  • Civil Wedding
  • Theme Wedding
  • Festival Wedding
  • Wedding Banquet
  • Wedding Cocktail
  • Wedding Brunch
  • Wedding Buffet
  • Wedding Dinner
  • Wedding Picnic
  • Wedding Party

This is by no means a complete list, as wedding events can have a variety of formats and styles, depending on the wishes and preferences of the newlyweds.

Banquet hall

– What are the trends in wedding decor today?

– Today’s couples want to be original, the main rule is not like the others – smiles Diana.

Banquet hall decorations can be made of almost anything. Creativity is important in this case, which contributes to the desire of newlyweds to “stand out” from the crowd.

Speaking about fashion trends, it is worth saying that this year the popular colors of wedding decorations are considered to be peach and coral. But there is no special attachment to the color, as well as to its value.
The only rule that remains unchanged – the color scheme is supported by the decoration of the banquet hall, and bouquets of bridesmaids, and boutonniere groom, that is, the unity of color should be in everything.

– They do yellow, red, and even black weddings. I recently did a black and white wedding. The couple attributed it to their devotion to the classic style, – says Diana Nedoria.

Cardboard and ribbons.

By the way, the invitations should also match the overall color of the wedding. By the way, these cards do not need to buy in a store. Their bride along with her girlfriends can make their own.

There is nothing difficult in this, assures Diana, and all you need is the desire, patience and special materials and tools. You will need colored cardboard, tracing paper, shaped scissors, tulle, interlining or lace, satin, velvet or kapron ribbons, satin rosettes, a hot glue gun with silicone.

To make a classic invitation, an “opening” card with a decorative cover, you need to choose two colors of cardboard in the tone of the general color scheme, in which the wedding will be held.

“The cover” of the invitation can be decorated according to your imagination. For example, attach a piece of tulle corresponding in shape to the top. Along the entire invitation to stretch a lace ribbon. With shaped scissors, cut two small pieces of cardboard in different colors so that one is slightly smaller than the other.
Glue them together so that the bigger piece is the base. Attach the construction to the cover. On the resulting “oasis” glue satin flowers, decorate with beads or ribbons.

You can print the text on tracing paper and attach the sheet to the inside of the card. The invitation is ready! It took Diana no more than 10 minutes to make the card.

As the bride, so the bouquet.

The bouquet

– What flowers should be part of a bride’s bouquet?

– It is correct to use seasonal flowers. The cost of the bouquet directly depends on it. For example, in summer it is of course roses, eustomias, gladioluses. In the spring – calla lilies, tulips, alstromeria. But lilies and orchids are flowers that will be relevant at any time of year – explains Diana.

As a rule, “older” brides prefer classical variants of bouquets. Younger ones can experiment with shapes and decorations.

– You can wind balls of beautiful thread, attach to skewers, tie up with ribbons and get an original bridal bouquet. Or you can glue artificial butterflies on the same skewers or make a bouquet out of sweets and be an unconventional bride with an unusual bouquet, – Diana suggests.

The bouquet can be round, oval, in the form of a ball or half a ball, as a wreath, or narrowed down, or it can consist of only one flower, for example a lotus.

Country or classic?

The most difficult thing for a young couple is to decide on the theme of the wedding. After all, the decor depends directly on the style in which the celebration will take place.

– It can be a “paper” wedding, when all the decorations and even the bride’s bouquet are made of paper. Or it can also be a “thread” wedding, when the decor includes balls of colorful threads.
Table decorations and bridal arches can be made of beads. In this case, both the bouquet of the bride and the groom’s boutonniere are also made of beads or glass beads, which looks very beautiful. Artificial butterflies, flowers, live and not, mirrors, even books from the family library can be fundamental in the wedding decor, – shares ideas decorator Diana.

When it comes to decorating the table for the bridal party, it is important to remember that the flowers in the vases should echo the flowers of the bride’s bouquet.

– If the bride is holding orchids, the table cannot have roses. Orchids must be present for sure, albeit in combination with other flowers. Also do not forget about the decorations. The same balls of thread can simply be “scattered” around the table or put glass stones in a chaotic order,” explains Diana.

Recently in Moldova, more and more often arrange a wedding feast in the street. This allows your imagination to run wild, because you can organize your wedding in a retro or country style.

– The picturesqueness of the place also helps. You can bring an antique cabinet or wrought iron chairs, or a rack of books, and a pedestal with a gramophone. You can’t do that in the banquet hall,” Diana Nedoria said.

Finally, the decorator explained to us that the decorations for the wedding can be made of anything, the main thing to imagine, dream and not be afraid of their own even the most fanciful ideas …

Summary

To summarize:

  • A wedding should be in the same color scheme, from the bride’s bouquet to the napkins on the tables.
  • There should be flowers on the wedding table that echo the colors of the bride’s bouquet.
  • Decorations on the tables, bridal archway, on the walls of the banquet hall should match the theme of the wedding.
  • It is better to use seasonal flowers for the bridal bouquet.

Remember, before composing the bouquet, the flowers should be trimmed under water and necessarily obliquely, so they will last longer.
